Match One of Season Two: Water Tribe Shatters Fire Nation!

Avatar Games Rally 2K15 was a great success!! Here are the results of our first match:

Water Tribe, although at first extremely defensive, proved to be very powerful this round. Taking advantage of their use of careful planning and subtle tactics, they wasted no time at all in taking out Fire Nation's healer with one quick feint of the sword. Their defensive, fluid movements prevailed in the first match, taking out some of the more fiery players first, then moving on to the stalwart defenders of Fire Nation's prized banner!

Round two was also desperate struggle, which ended in the same result - water tribe victorious!

The final round Fire Nation, in a last struggle for triumph, kept up a flaming wall of solid defense, in the which they managed to defeat the Water Tribesman in the final stand upon their own base.

But with the points tallied and the judges united in agreement, it was decided that Water Tribe, with an overall streak of 2 to 1, had won the day. Better luck next time, Fire Nation!

Before we go, it ought to announced that the first one-on-one healer duel occurred this morning between Erik Fogth and Aaron Scholle!

At first Erik seemed to be prevailing heavily in the duel, advancing confidently against Aaron, sparks literally flying off his fingertips. Everyone gasped in suspense as Aaron slipped on the wet terrain to his knees! But then, quick as the rare alleged water snake, Aaron fought back to his feet, and, through a powerful series of blows, took Erik down! The outcome left all viewers stunned. Congratulations to Aaron W. Scholle for winning the first ever in-match Healer Duel!

Lastly, the Avatar Counsel would like to send a special shout out to Joel Hirschmann and Erik Fogth, who performed spectacularly as the brave volunteers to test run the rank of Avatar during the Games. It's not always easy being the lab rats, so nice job you guys!

As always, the Avatar Games were a great success. Thanks to all of the participants who came for the first week, and we hope to see y'all again soon, at the next match of

FAQ regarding Avatar Club Game Rules and Initiation 2K15-16

There have been quite a few questions lately regarding certain aspects of Avatar Club.  We apologize for the wait, but it was necessary to get our thoughts together, and lay things out in a way that makes sense to hopefully, everyone.  For most of the rules regarding Avatar Four Way Capture the Flag, please go to the Rules and Regulations tab just above the posts, in the navigation bar. Just note that some of the rules have been altered because of game complications. However, we will be updating this tab ASAP and if you have any remaining questions, feel free to contact a member of the official Avatar Counsel.
If you have any more questions on the subject of either this or anything about the CTF,  or even just anything about Avatar Club, please click on the Feedback tab, and submit a comment.

To be initiated into this club, you must first complete a few essential requirements:

1. Follow the age restrictions, AKA entering into the 7th grade (That means having passed 6th grade completely) on up to super senior status.**

2. Pay $4 participation fee, and an optional $8 fee, if you want to keep your foam sword, making the total $12.

3.  If you would like to be contacted regarding upcoming events and other sweet opportunities in the club, enter information into the sign up box on the right hand side of the page on the website, (this only works on desktop version, not the mobile version, sorry peoples!)

4.  Always pay the proper respect and follow the rules of the club when participating at an activity. Otherwise, you may be banned.

5. Bring a great attitude and a sense of adventure!!

**We are required to warn younger players that there is a higher risk of injury if you have not yet graduated middle school, as the vast majority of those involved in the club are high school students.

Rules Review and Changes, and New Spoils of War!!!

Starting this week, a couple of the rules have been altered.

1.) After being killed or wounded, to be healed, a healer MUST touch the wounded player for at least 10 Seconds, COUNTING ALOUD, to restore them to their former health.

2.) The Avatar can only heal 3 times per life, and to heal the Avatar must touch the wounded player for at least 5 Seconds, COUNTING ALOUD.

3.) When your team flag has been captured, all players are restored to their former health, and all come back to life, in order to assist the team that defeated them.

4.) All Teams MUST be equal in number of players before the games can commence.

5.) Healing Pits have been disbanded.  They are now called Flag Pits.  We will have actual rope marking the boundaries next week, and no Healer shall be allowed within them upon penalty of death.  No more than two people on the defensive team (the team with their flag inside of the flag pit) is allowed inside upon penalty of death, however, an unlimited amount of attackers may be allowed inside the Pit, whenever they so choose to enter.

6.) The mark of the start of the game is sounded by war cries, not malicious gong ringing.

SPOILS OF WAR!!

The winning team that defeats all other teams in the weekly match get several advantages and guilty pleasures:

1.) The Trophy:

The winning Team gets to take home the Trophy, and stare at the beauty of it until their eyes glaze over.

2.) The MVP Jersey:

The winning team is bestowed the MVP Jersey, which is handed out to the MVP of that week on their team, by the Team Captain of said team.

3.) Tactical advantage by way of Location:

The Team that wins is allowed first pick on location for the start of the next games.

4.) Bragging Rights:

'Nuff said.

Results from Last Match: EARTH CONQUERS ALL!

Last week's match was so sick!  Thanks to all of the participants who it made it a such a success!!  We started a little late, due to sword making difficulties.  However, when the real fight began, it was just as adrenaline pumping and crazy as anyone could've hoped for!  Against the blaze of the setting sun, the flags were set, and the battle for glory began.  Earth struck first blood, taking the Air Nomads to their graves, then Fire was next, defeating Water in a desperate bid for survival.  Finally, it was all out war, as both allianced teams struggled for the upper hand.  After a series of aggressive attacks on the part of Fire, it seemed as if the Nation had won the day.  Fire snatched back the Air Nomads' allegiance, by capturing their flag from Earth Kingdom's territory, and replacing it in their own.  Suddenly, it was all three teams on one, and it appeared that Earth's cause was undoubtedly lost.  However, with the help of an amazing and incredibly resilient healer, Jake Liddle, the firm stand of Troy Blackman, and the reinforcements of Cody Dinnsmore and many other Earth Members, Earth made a final stand at their base.  In the end, it was Fire that was defeated, on the heavy turf of Earth Kingdom's impenetrable fortress, Ba Sing Se.  Next, siege was taken upon the mother ship of Fire Nation, attacked by Earth.  Water was now the only remaining defense of all three flags, as the Air Nomads had decided to excuse themselves for a secret 'cookie break.'  Thus, it was only a few minutes later that the deceased and wounded Fire Nation was forced to watch with mourning eyes, as the triumphant Earth Kingdom returned all three of the remaining flags to their base, and to their 'rightful' place, under the head of King Kai of the Barlow Province, triumphant leader of all that stand firm and unmoving.  And so it was that to Earth Kingdom, the game was won.

Where is Forbidden Paths?

For those of you that tried to come last week, and ended up getting lost, avatar club staff members send out their most cordial apologies.  Here is a simplified explanation of how to get to the site of the Games, starting from Oak Canyon.

Step One:  Starting from the three flagpoles, head along 200 South (2000) going UP the hill until you reach the Murdock Canal Trail.

Step Two: Converge onto the trail, traveling AWAY from the drinking fountains, (Travelling North) towards the mountains.  (This does not require crossing the street.)

Step Three: Go straight down the Murdock Canal Trail until you reach the first street that intersects it.  (East Center Street.)

Step Four: Turn right, cross the road, and follow it all the way to the end of the street, where you will find a gate, the entrance to the legendary Game Arena, and about 60 spirited and wild participants, ready to do battle!
